ISL's Canadian MVP Hume returns to Tranmere

The Indian Super League's (ISL) inaugural Player of the Year has returned home to his very first club.

Iain Hume, who starred for runners-up Kerala Blasters by winning the 'Hero of the League' in the 2014 ISL, has signed a six-month contract with English League Two club Tranmere Rovers.

The Scotland-born Canada international returns to Prenton Park where his professional career started back in 1999 and was eagerly anticipating getting back on the pitch with the Super Whites.

During his initial spell with Tranmere, Hume scored more than 30 goals in over 150 appearances before moving to Leicester City in 2005.

Since leaving the Foxes in 2008 after netting 33 goals, Hume has played for Barnsley, Preston North End, Doncaster Rovers, Fleetwood Town and Kerala but will now continue his career back where it all begun more than 15 years ago.
