Ireland boss Trapattoni believes Capello is keen on Inter move

Despite Fabio Capello saying this England job will be his last managerial role, his Republic of Ireland counterpart Giovanni Trapattoni believes he is keen on the Inter Milan job.

Reports came out recently that the Italian was being chased by the UEFA Champions and his countryman is of firm belief that England contract permitting, Capello will be in charge at the San Siro after the World Cup.

"Even before Mourinho left, I imagined the name of his possible replacement," Trapattoni told Italian TVs GR Parlamento show on RAI.

"Inter's next coach? At this time, Capello is the number one candidate.

"There's no doubt about his wish but it depends on his contract.

"I think it will depend on his contract but (Inter president Massimo) Moratti even in the past had the possibility to sign him.

"Knowing Fabio, he is very focused but his situation is very difficult and he is followed by everyone.

"Ahead of a World Cup, a false step could create problems for him."
