Ipswich Town want to keep hold of QPR striker DJ Campbell.

The Mirror says new Tractor Boys chief Mick McCarthy wants to turn DJ Campbell's loan move from QPR into a ­permanent switch.

His loan runs until January and ­McCarthy revealed: "I will have to talk to the powers that be and try to keep him. He is a rare old character and good around the place."
