Ipswich Town's head of recruitment Sam Williams is in advanced talks with Manchester United.

Williams is set to join United in an academy role.

The Daily Express says Williams is set to be named lead academy scout.

Williams previously worked for United as an analyst and scout before leaving in 2022 to join former assistant Kieran McKenna at Portman Road.

His remit will cover talent between 17 and 21 years of age.
