Ipswich boss McKenna 'really proud' after Wolves Cup surprise

Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna says their 3-2 Carabao Cup defeat of Wolves was deserved.

Ipswich fought back from 2-0 down to win at Portman Road.

McKenna said: "I am really proud of the players. It has been a few years since the club has faced Premier League opposition. To go down 2-0 down so early on we needed to show our character and bravery to keep being aggressive on and off the ball.

"We deservedly grew back into the game and it was a great way to win it in the second-half.

"We are getting tested every week in the Championship, it is a big step up and one of our goals was to get a Premier League club and to test ourselves. It is a good marker for us and good experience from the players.

"It is a good value ticket and we appreciate the fans coming with numbers, it is up to us to give performances and give them a team to be proud of. The connection is great between staff, owners and fans.

"It is up to us to keep working hard and building them connections."
