Inverness sign keeper Esson to new deal

Inverness keeper Ryan Esson has signed a two-year contract following the club's return to the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. The 30 year old last played in the top flight of the Scottish game with Aberdeen in the 2005/06 season, after which he had spells with Shrewsbury and Hereford.

Inverness boss Terry Butcher told www.ictfc.co.uk: "It is encouraging that Ryan has committed himself to us.

"He was outstandingly consistent last season and his experience will serve us well in the top flight. We are still looking to add another keeper to the squad, replacing Kyle Allison, who was released."

Former Scotland Under-21 international Esson was keen to sort out his future, saying: "I'm pleased everything is settled. It was always my first choice to stay at the club."
