Inverness Caley keen to keep McGuire

Inverness Caley boss Craig Brewster is keen to hold onto defender Phil McGuire.

The former Aberdeen defender joined the club on loan from Dunfermline in August but the deal expires in January. However, Brewster is optimistic that the 27-year-old will remain in the Highlands.

"I have been speaking to Phil McGuire's agent this week about the possibility of extending his stay here," Brewster said. "Phil knows how highly I rate him and that's the important thing.

"I think he is enjoying life up here and let's hope he can continue to do that.

"Usually when players enjoy being somewhere they are happy to stay."
