International transfers not yet through for Perth Glory pair

Perth Glory recruits Michael Baird and Josh Mitchell have not yet received their International Transfer Certificates meaning they may not be free to play in the club's season opener.

Baird and Mitchell joined the Glory from Romanian club Universitatea Craiova in April this year but have not been given clearance to play competitively in another league yet.

Baird has also not received payments from the club but says that is the least of his worries at the moment.

"The money thing, it's not a big factor to me," Baird told Watoday. "It's more playing, and the owner over there knew he'd be able to stand in our way for a period of time and he's done that and he's doing it successfully.

"That's the thing I don't want, I don't think he should be allowed to do (that).

"Why can't we play, we did everything legal, we didn't get paid so it's simple for me (to leave). But I've got to stand by and go through all the legalities with FIFA, the Professional Footballers Association and Football Federation Australia and everything like that.

"It's just a big merry-go-round at the moment and hopefully it's gonna stop soon."

The Glory take on North Queensland Fury at NIB Stadium tomorrow night - kick-off is at 10:00pm AEST.
