Inter Milan midfielder Patrick Vieira insists he's the best available to France coach Raymond Domenech.
Vieira has been overlooked for their World Cup playoff against the Republic of Ireland.
"I know that in my position there is actually no one better than me in France. It might seem presumptuous, but I am convinced of it," he told L'Equipe.
Vieira has played just once for France in 2009 and only twice in 2008, but he is determined to represent his country at next summer's World Cup.
"I don't expect anything. I have given myself the objective of participating in the next World Cup. Sure I would like to participate in the Play-offs, but it's only a stage."
