Inter Milan are encouraging Manchester United and Chelsea to bid for Wesley Sneijder in January. Sportmediaset says the cash-strapped Italian giants need to sell Sneijder to fund plans of overhauling their ageing squad.
Inter hope to sell for at least £30 million and use the cash to add a new midfielder and centre-half to Claudio Ranieri's team in January.
United made a serious play for Sneijder over the summer, but the midfielder's personal demands left manager Sir Alex Ferguson unimpressed.
Chelsea will also be offered the Dutchman, having been linked with him in the final weeks of the summer market.
