Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has backed Jose Mourinho over his blast for Mario Balotelli.

Mourinho slaughtered Balotelli after his performance for Inter in their 1-1 draw with Roma on Sunday.

Moratti said: "Hopefully - psychologically for Mourinho - Balotelli is someone who is in need of rescuing.

"Anyway I believe he did it to put Balotelli in the condition to understand the talent that he has and that he can sincerely do more."
