Inter Milan's dressing room was shocked to learn of Diego Forlan's ineligibility from the Champions League.
Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia says they only discovered the news via the media.
"We were surprised too," revealed Ranocchia.
"Those Inter players away from the club right now only read about it today. We haven't heard from anyone at Inter, so we only found out through the newspapers."
