Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino is keen on a move to Everton.
The Uruguay international has made 14 appearances in Serie A this season, scoring once, but it is believed Inter are willing to let the player go this month as they feel they have enough strength in depth in that position.
Manchester United are known to be looking for a central midfielder before the close of the transfer window on Friday, and allegedly saw Vecino as a potential option, but according to Gazzetta dello Sport it is the Toffees who have made the first move.
Everton have made an offer via intermediaries, with their manager Carlo Ancelotti said to be a big fan of Vecino having got to know the player as an opponent during his time in charge of Napoli.
