Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino: An ugly defeat

Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino admits they lost control of the game in defeat at Champions League opponents Borussia Dortmund.

The visitors had been 2-0 up at half-time with goals from Lautaro Martinez and Vecino, but they were completely over-run after the break.

“It hurts, it's an ugly defeat after such a good first half, where we went 2-0 up," the midfielder told Sky Sport Italia.

“We went too deep, we couldn't keep hold of the ball and it went wrong. I think the issue was not so much physical, as we couldn't keep the ball and therefore were constantly forced to play in our own half.

“They gained enthusiasm and we couldn't make the counter-attacks work either. I haven't started the season well, I am the first to feel bad about that, but I hope this goal can help me find the path forward."
