Inter Milan are preparing to launch a bid for Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano.

The Daily Mail says Mascherano could be on his way out of Anfield with reports in Italy yesterday linking him with a £30m move to Inter Milan.

Talks between Liverpool and the Argentina midfielder over a new contract have stalled, and Mascherano is known to be unhappy over Rafa Benitez's departure.

The former Liverpool boss is expected to be unveiled as Jose Mourinho's successor at the San Siro, with Inter believed to be interested in signing Mascherano's team-mate Dirk Kuyt as a welcome present for him.
