Inter Milan are believed to be plotting an audacious player exchange with Tottenham Hotspur.

Sky Italia is reporting that the Nerazzurri are hoping to bring Jan Vertonghen to the San Siro from White Hart Lane with Marcelo Brozovic heading the other way.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio is of the belief that Inter boss Frank De Boer has offered Croatian midfielder Brozovic to Spurs with Belgian centre-back Vertonghen wanted in return.

However, the North Londoners are unimpressed by the proposal as they see De Boer's former Ajax star as an integral member of Mauricio Pochettino's squad.
