Inter Milan have denied reports they've held talks with Zenit St Petersburg coach Luciano Spalletti.

There's speculation Inter will seek to replace Claudio Ranieri should they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.

However, the club have since moved to deny the story, issuing a statement via their official website.

"With reference to the article printed in today's edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport regarding the future coach of Inter, F.C. Internazionale emphatically denies the story, which is entirely groundless."
