Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij is delighted to be working again with new coach Simone Inzaghi.

De Vrij played for Inzaghi at Lazio.

"I am very happy at Inzaghi's arrival, as we worked very well together at Lazio," the defender told Sky Italia.

“He is a smart coach and has a lot to offer us. He brings a great atmosphere so everyone is ready to give their best."

De Vrij continued: “It's wonderful to be the Scudetto winners and we enjoyed it, but a new season begins and we want to confirm our status. We can't wait, as we are a winning team now and must remember that.

“I think it's an advantage that Inzaghi has a similar tactical philosophy to Conte, because the squad is more or less untouched and we hope to pick up where we left off.

“Personally, I can improve a great deal and must make my voice heard more when leading the defence."
