Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini was delighted with the performance of Luis Figo in last night's 3-0 thumping of Sampdoria.

Figo was outstanding and grabbed a goal in the victory and Mancini said: "He has done very well. And he lifted everyone in the team. When everyone is working together, individuals can shine like he did tonight.

"The president (Massimo Moratti) was decisive in convincing the Portuguese to stay this season.

"I did make it clear to him that sometimes he would be on the bench and others he would be in the stands."
