Inter Milan captain Samir Handanovic says the Europa League can mark the beginning of a new era for the club.

Inter meet Sevilla in the Europa League final on Friday night.

“When I arrived, I always aimed to play for trophies," Handanovic said at a press conference. “At last, we can fight for something important, this must be a starting point.

“It must become a habit, like 10 to 15 years ago. Inter always played for the Scudetto and the cups.

“Now we have reached the point where we can play for something important and I'm proud to be here today.

“From day one, I wanted to win."
