Inter Milan are ready to bring forward plans to recall Robert Acquafresca from Cagliari.

A deal has already been struck which will see the Italy U21 centre-forward return to the San Siro at the end of this season.

However, Tuttosport says Inter have made fresh contact with Cagliari about a deal for January. Inter want Acquafresca as an option in the event Adriano doesn't return from Brazil next month.

Cagliari are open to the prospect and have already asked for Mario Balotelli on-loan in exchange.
