Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho is pleased with their signing of former Parma midfielder McDonald Mariga.
The 22-year-old Kenya international midfielder was brought in on a part-ownership deal for which Inter paid Parma £4m.
Mourinho said: "I am satisfied. He is an extra option in midfield. Today he trained for the first time.
"We have taken it into account that he is coming back from an injury, but he seems to be in such a condition as to be readily available. He is young. He has to grow.
"He is for today, but also for the future. I like him also for this reason. He still has to work a lot to get to the top, but I like him. We need him to re-balance ourselves [after Vieira's departure]. I hope that Simplicio and Ledesma are happy."
