Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho admits he could be forced into the market after Marco Materazzi broke down with a thigh strain this week.

"I am sincerely worried about the defensive situation," said Mourinho before the test results were in.

"We will just have to wait on news from the medical team regarding Materazzi - it's a muscular problem but that's all we know for now.

"It could be difficult having to pick Andrea Mei or Esteban Cambiasso alongside Nicolas Burdisso.

"However, the important games will come in a month's time and we will have to be ready for that."

Materazzi has been ruled out for three weeks.
