Manchester United defender Phil Jones was taken to hospital during his side's 3-1 win over Hull City on Tuesday night.
The 22-year old centre-back was forced off the Old Trafford pitch in just the 22nd minute after he was involved in a collision with Tigers defender Maynor Figueroa.
Jones, who is expected to be part of Roy Hodgson's England squad for the World Cup, came off the pitch and went straight down the tunnel before heading to hospital for scans on the injured area.
Interim manager Ryan Giggs told Sky Sports: "He has gone off to hospital to see what it was. I'm not sure if his shoulder came out or not.
"Hopefully he'll be OK. It's too near to say what the condition is."
