Injury news not too bad for Stoke's Sorensen

Stoke City goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen is expected to be fit for the World Cup despite dislocating his elbow against Chelsea on the weekend.

The Danish shot-stopper sustained the injury whilst challenging Salomon Kalou for the ball in the Potters' 7-0 loss to the Blues at Stamford Bridge on Sunday and initial fears were that he would require surgery.

But Stoke boss Tony Pulis has confirmed that Sorensen's elbow was put back in and an operation would not be needed, boosting his World Cup hopes.

"If he had needed an operation, he'd have struggled to make the World Cup, but there is some encouraging news in that it was put back without the need for that," said Pulis.
