Ings expecting Liverpool to put on proud performance at Man Utd

Danny Ings hopes to make his first Premier League start for Liverpool in next Saturday's blockbuster clash with rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Ings joined the Anfield club from Burnley during the summer, but is yet to feature in Brendan Rodgers' starting XI so far this campaign.

The 23-year-old is hopeful that will change when the Reds travel to Manchester for one of the most eagerly-anticipated matches of the season.

"We need to match them up physically, mentally and tactically which I'm sure we will do and I know we've got enough quality to win the game," Ings said.

"I think everybody knows about the rivalry that is [Liverpool and United]. It's two clubs with such history and it can be a fierce game.

"But as players these are games you look forward to the most and be a part of because it does go down in history.

"Everybody here will show pride and I'm sure we will go out there and put on real performance for the fans and the club."
