Ings delighted making winning West Ham debut

Danny Ings was delighted making a winning West Ham debut against Everton.

Ings came on to replace Michail Antonio with 20 minutes remaining, though a threat up front was not the order of the day as West Ham looked to hold on to their two-goal lead.

They did just that, picking up their first Premier League win since October to move out of the bottom three and up into 15th.

Speaking after the match, Ings discussed his decision to join West Ham and what he hopes he will bring to the club.

“Goals, I'm a striker, it's what I pride my work on," Ings told Sky Sports. “But days like today when you have a lead it is a different side of the game.

“When a team with this quality is down there in the table it is surprising for everyone. But the moment I came in I saw there is a great culture at the club and it is great to be a part of.

“It has been a crazy couple of days and I'll sleep well tonight. It is a massive club, finishing in the European spots the last two seasons is huge. It was an opportunity I couldn't say no to."
