Manchester City youngster Kelechi Iheanacho can't wait to get an opportunity to prove himself in the senior squad at the Etihad Stadium.

Recent reports suggest that boss Manuel Pellegrini has consistently observed the Nigerian playing for City's U21 this season and if the rumours are true, Iheanacho is keen for a first team opportunity.

"I don't know," he said.

"Maybe the coach likes the way I play and the way I do things, maybe I have to put in more and work on the things they want me to do on the pitch.

"I hope he sees good qualities in me and I hope I will be in the first team soon."
