Ighalo elated after brace lifts Man Utd over Derby to FA Cup quarter-finals

Odion Jude Ighalo was elated after scoring a double for Manchester United in Thursday's 3-0 win over Derby County.

The win puts United through to the FA Cup quarter-finals where they will face Norwich City at Carrow Road.

Luke Shaw opened the scoring at Pride Park after 33 minutes with a fortuitous strike that deflected off the back of Jesse Lingard.

Ighalo doubled the advantage shortly after when he collected Shaw's pass and found space in the box to finish past Kelle Roos.

The Nigerian, a surprise loan signing from China in January, doubled his tally for the night when he fired into the roof of the net with 20 minutes remaining.

It was an unfortunate match for Wayne Rooney, who was unable to get a result against his former side.

Speaking after the game, Ighalo was delighted with the win and his performance.

He said: "I am happy to be around this game team, great lads and great manager, I am happy and we are working hard.

"We know we need to win the game to go through to do important things this season and end the season well. The start was not the best we can do but after 20-25 minutes we got into the game.

"I used my strength and I am happy the ball went in. For the second, they blocked it then there is nothing I can do apart from shoot.

"I had another shot but did not connect well but the most important thing is that we won.

"We want to keep the momentum going and make sure we do great this season."
