Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala has revealed that he often lets the energetic striker Sergio Aguero get away with it on the training ground so he can stay fresh for the game.

The Frenchman often battles with Argentine ace Aguero at City training but admits sometimes the Premier League's leading scorer runs him ragged.

"I just leave him in training sometimes, because I need to rest for the game! I just leave him alone, let him get on with it!" Mangala told.

Aguero scored his 22nd league goal of the season against Tottenham in the 1-0 win on Sunday to lead the scoring charts ahead of Spurs striker Harry Kane who has netted 20.
