Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker has revealed that he is superstitious about yoga and never misses a session.
The 30-year old World Cup winner is getting to that stage of his career where he needs to take more care of his body in order to continue playing at the highest level.
"I do [Yoga] one hour every week. When you are superstitious, which most footballers are, you have your habits," said Mertesacker.
"I never miss a session. It's not compulsory, but I have done it since I arrived. You don't normally find a yoga teacher at a football club. But it helps a lot. Mentally, physically, everything. Those that do it feel a great benefit."
The former Germany international has featured in 32 league games for the Gunners this season and will lead the team against Aston Villa in FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday.
