Erik Huseklepp has finished his loan at Birmingham City to return to relegated Portsmouth.
The 27-year old Norwegian striker moved to St Andrew's on a three-month deal in February with the hope of winning a permanent deal but the Brum have opted against offering him anything further.
Huseklepp's future is now up in the air as he is unlikely to want to play in League One after Pompey were dropped from the Championship for finishing third bottom in England's second tier.
