Hull City winger George Boyd is facing trial by television after appearing to spit at Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart yesterday.
The Mail on Sunday says Hart and Hull substitute Boyd were involved in a furious stand-off in which their foreheads clashed after the home man went down claiming a penalty in Manchester City's 2-0 win.
Pictures appeared to show spittle coming out of Boyd's mouth as they angrily confronted each other, though Hart later said he had not been spat at.
Ironically, the incident occurred at the same ground where Newcastle manager Alan Pardew butted Hull player David Meyler a fortnight ago, for which he was banned for seven matches.
Hart has insisted to City officials that Boyd did not spit on him.
