Hull expecting to secure ex-Newcastle defender Taylor

Steve Bruce confirms that Hull City are on the verge of securing the services of Ryan Taylor on a free transfer.

With Robbie Brady set to depart, Hull have wasted no time in attempting to strengthen their squad by bringing in the experienced and versatile Taylor.

Hull manager Steve Bruce has revealed that the club are close to agreeing a deal with 30-year-old Taylor with the former Newcastle United man is set to be unveiled by Wednesday.

"We are close to reaching an agreement with Ryan which is important," Bruce told the Hull Daily Mail. "He has come over and proved his fitness.

"He trained with us the last week and we are delighted he is close to joining us. We're really pleased. He could be a Hull City player by Wednesday night."
