Steve Bruce has revealed that Hull City will not be able to afford Dwight Gayle.

With Andre Gray making a move to Burnley, Hull had targeted Crystal Palace's Gayle as their new striker target.

However, Bruce has revealed that Hull's chase for Gayle will not be coming to fruition as they simply do not have enough funds to afford the striker.

"I think Gayle's going to be too much money for the money they're quoting," Bruce revealed.

"Bristol City had a bit accepted – we all know the numbers – we simply haven't got that."
