Hull capable of winning finish to season if they can recapture Chelsea form - Meyler

David Meyler believes Hull City will push well clear of the relegation zone come season's end if they manage to rediscover their last-start form.

The Tigers troubled league leaders Chelsea at the KC Stadium on March 22, eventually losing 3-2, which has given them impetus to kick on for the remainder of the campaign.

Ahead of Saturday's trip to Swansea City, midfielder Meyler said: "We're in a great position and yes we've got some good teams to play but we want to test ourselves against the best.

"The manager (Steve Bruce) has drummed that into us since we got promoted and it has never changed.

"If we can build on the Chelsea performance then we'll beat the majority of teams we play.

"It's Swansea next up - another tough game. As we've shown, we're more than capable of going there and getting a good result.

"We've been to Anfield, the Emirates and the Etihad and taken something from those games. We ran Man City close at the KC Stadium at the start of the year and Chelsea the same.

"We've shown we're capable against the best sides, but we need to build on these performances and take it to Swansea."
