Hull City boss Steve Bruce hailed two-goal Dame N'Doye after victory at Crystal Palace.
It was a fifth goal in 10 games for the Senegalese, who Bruce lured to Humberside from Lokomotiv Moscow on the final day of the January transfer window.
"I've never seen anybody take as big a pay cut as what Dame did," said Bruce, "He wanted to play in England.
"Footballers are often criticised for being mercenary but he took a substantial wage cut to come and join us, which I am so pleased he has done and hopefully he'll get it back.
"We'll get the money back to him because if he keeps producing like he did today, he will earn a new contract, either with us or somewhere else."
