Hull boss Bruce: I tried to sign Cardiff striker Campbell

Hull City boss Steve Bruce admits they must silence former Tigers star Fraizer Campbell against Cardiff City.

Bruce admits he twice attempted to bring Campbell back to the KC.

He told the Hull Daily Mail: "I tried to bring Fraizer here after I first took him to Sunderland. He was unlucky at Sunderland, and it was unlucky for me too. He scored four versus Hull in pre-season then did his knee twice.

"I effectively didn't see him at Sunderland for 18 months. Two years of my tenure there I didn't really have him.

"I've got no question he has a great hunger and a great attitude. I tried to bring him here and he elected to go to Cardiff, that's his choice, but good luck to him after today."
