Hull boss Bruce determined to keep hold of Fryatt

Hull City boss Steve Bruce hopes to keep hold of Matty Fryatt.

The Hull Daily Mail says Bruce is hopeful he can persuade Matty Fryatt to commit his long-term future to Hull City as the pair prepare to begin talks over a new deal in the coming weeks.

"Matty will generate interest because he's out of contract, but I've said to him that we will sit down and offer him a contract," said Bruce, who must also decide on the futures of Robert Koren, Abdoulaye Faye, Joe Dudgeon, Steve Harper and Eldin Jakupovic.

"We need to secure our Premier League status first but even if we didn't, God forbid, there would still be a contract offer there for Matty Fryatt.

"I've spoken to his agent and told Matty that in the last few weeks.

"Matty has always wanted a chance to prove himself in the Premier League so no disrespect to other clubs that might be interested, he might well fancy his chances of getting a run in the team if he stays here.

"I've promised him that some time he will get a run in the team."
