Hull City boss Steve Bruce is seeking a boost from Momo Diame's return.
The midfielder has struggled with injury this season.
Bruce said: "No matter how you try and flannel it up, we've been without some of our big players for too long, and it's been a struggle.
"Being without Mohamed for four months, James for two months, and Robert Snodgrass all season, they've left big holes in our squad.
"Mohamed has looked immense since his return to training.
"He looks like a Rolls-Royce. He's come in and you've gone 'wow, what's that?' The kid's a top player, and we've missed him.
"I was with Kenny Dalglish recently and he told me that he was very close to taking him to Liverpool when he was manager there and Diame was out of contract with Wigan."
