Hull City boss Steve Bruce is convinced by the quality of Gaston Ramirez.

Ramirez is on-loan from Southampton.

Bruce said: "He picked up a bit of a strain while he was away but we hope he's going to make it. Like a lot of players, we saw a big performance from Gaston against Chelsea.

"If you're going to match the best team in the Premier League you need players at their best and that's what we got from a lot of our lads, including Gaston.

"Only in the past few months have we started to see what Gaston is all about.

"I think back to the Sunderland game (on Boxing Day) and he's improved from that point.

"I've been really pleased with how he's done recently and he can be a big player for us in the run-in."
