Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton admits they must go into the Premiership with a limited transfer budget.
But he draws inspiration from the achievements of Birmingham and Wolves.
Hughton, whose team face a tough trip to Manchester United in their first game back in the Premier League, said: "There is not the sort of money available which was spent in the past.
"But you are buoyed by seeing what Birmingham and Wolves did last season.
"Those two sides coped very well on a limited budget. We have to stay up."
