Hughes pleased with Stoke's winning consistency

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes was delighted with victory over West Bromwich Albion.

Mame Diouf's two second-half goals were the difference in an evenly-contested game that pushes Albion chief coach Alan Irvine ever nearer the brink.

"Back-to-back wins is really important, clean sheets as well, which is encouraging for us," said Hughes.

"Probably the first half we lacked that bit of sharpness and didn't really create a great deal.

"Second half we talked about giving them a different type of problem with the ball behind and getting runs behind.

"We got a second wind and were more energetic on the front foot.

"I thought whoever scored first would be in the ascendancy and thankfully it was us.

"Then the second goal came and we were able to take the game away from them."
