Hughes: Inverness loss to Celtic bittersweet

Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager John Hughes felt his side performed both admirably and lamentably in Sunday's 1-0 home loss to Celtic.

Caley were beaten by a third-minute Kris Commons goal to drop to fourth place on the Scottish Premier League table and despite the loss, Hughes felt his team did ok against the reigning champions who are yet to be beaten this campaign.

"We are disappointed to lose the match with the early goal," said Hughes. "The first thing you say when playing Celtic is keep it tight for 20 minutes so to lose that goal was disappointing.

"The way we went about our business; we passed it about very well and the ball retention was very good.

"You are not going to create chance after chance against Celtic. You are playing against a right good football team. But when a few chances come along you hope that you take them."
