Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has revealed his intentions to keep goalkeeper Asmir Begovic at the club and hopes the Bosnian international will sign a new contract.
The 27-year old, who has been left out by Hughes recently, continues to be linked with moves to clubs such as Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Real Madrid this summer as his deal at the Britannia Stadium runs out next year.
Of Begovic, Hughes said: "We are hoping he stays. We are having conversations at the end of the season and we hope we can re-sign Asmir because he is an outstanding goalkeeper.
"He's one of those conversations we hope it positive for us.
"It's right that I show that respect to Asmir. He is our No1 keeper and has played the majority of the games, so it's only right and proper he plays in the last game."
