Stoke City boss Mark Hughes hailed the character of his team after victory at Tottenham.
The manager was delighted with the way they kept their lead.
"We probably had scars from last week against West Ham," Hughes admitted, "but I think that helped us and we managed to get through the game better than against West Ham.
"It was an excellent result and excellent performance from start to finish.
"We had a few problems with two injuries and had to re-organise, but credit to the guys who came in.
"It shows the strength of the squad and that the guys are ready to come in when called upon."
