Hughes will proudly lead his Team out at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino, and the defender is clearly determined to take something back to the Cottage for next week’s return leg.
He told fulhamfc.com: "We knew that if we overcame Shakhtar Donetsk there would be a big prize in the sense that we would have a big name of European football waiting for us - as it turned out it was Juventus and everybody is really looking forward to it.
"We know we face a very hard task and if we do manage to get something from the game to take back to the Cottage we'll be very pleased.
“It's something we're all looking forward too and really excited about. They're [Juventus] a massive club in Europe and if we can get anything from the two legs it would be a massive result. It would stick out in the Club's history and a few people would sit up and notice the result.”
