Hughes expects improved Stoke performance against Everton

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes expects a big performance from his players for their clash with Everton.

Marc Muniesa played at centre half for the first time as a Stoke player when they were walloped 4-0 at Goodison 13 months ago in arguably their worst performance under Hughes.

But the City boss is adamant there will be no repeat as he decides on several possible changes - including Marc Wilson for Muniesa - for this afternoon's clash (3pm).

"They are very strong at Goodison and it's a difficult place to go, as we know to our own cost last year.

"But I feel we are a better team 12 months down the line, with the players understanding what we are trying to do, and I'm sure we will give a better account of ourselves.

"We need to improve on that performance from last year and I fully expect us to. There's no doubt Marc (Muniesa) has done great for us since that day."
