Houston Dynamo skipper Davis excited about potential Coyle signing

Houston Dynamo captain Brad Davis has backed his club's pursuit of Owen Coyle.

The former Bolton and Wigan Athletic manager is set to complete a deal with the Dynamo and his anticipated appointment has been welcomed by midfielder Davis who spoke with former teammate and Coyle's old mentor Stuart Holden about the Scotsman.

"Talking with Stuart, he was definitely a guy the players loved to play for, a guy that the players really respected," Davis said.

"For me, as a player, those are the things you love to hear; a coach that's going to work for the players and have the players' thoughts first and foremost in his mind.

"It's a positive name I've heard talking to other guys in terms of players that have played for him."

The Dynamo lost Dom Kinnear in October, with the coach returning to San Jose Earthquakes, but it is expected that they will seal an agreement with Coyle very soon.
