Montreal Impact head coach Jesse Marsch acknowledges that Brian Ching does not want to be with the club.
The incoming franchise selected the veteran striker in the MLS Expansion Draft on Wednesday knowing that he does not want to relocate and Marsch admits he knew this information.
"[Ching] has made it clear he doesn't want to be here, but we value him," Marsch said. "I think there are teams in the league that value him. He's a valuable guy.
"I want to still include what's best for Brian in his future, but I also have to include what's best for our club."
Ching now faces a tough decision for his extensive career with his choices including retirement, moving to Montreal or hoping the Dynamo can do a deal to bring him back and his agent, Richard Motzkin, feels his client is now in a very tricky situation.
"It's unfortunate that he's the one who has to pay the price for decisions that were made by the organizations," Motzkin told MLSsoccer.com. "It's not a good situation for anyone right now."
